Quiet Service - Resources

Quiet Service 19th July 2015

Introduction.

It has been suggested that we carry out a prayer walk through our local community. As this seems an excellent idea we will use it for our Quiet Service to be held on Sunday Evening.

Prayer Route with stations

As you will see from the map there are seven stopping places on the route so that we can focus our thoughts and prayers on specific topics as well as praying for the people who live in the houses we will walk past.

The seven "stops" are as follows:-

1. Our own Church
2. The Islamic Centre - We pray for inter-faith dialogue and relationships.
3. Fleetville Junior School and Children's Centre - we pray for Junior age children
4. Morrisons - We pray for the commerce and trades located in Fleetville.
5. The Rec., Fleetville Community Centre and Fleetville Infants School - We pray for infant age children and our leisure and sports in the community.
6. Verulam School - We pray for our Senior school students and all school staff in the schools in Fleetville.
7. St Paul's - We pray for our ecumenical relationships in Fleetville.

We gather in the road outside of our church building to start our prayer walk together.

We pray for our fellowship together and our place in the community around us, which we are about to walk together.

Let us pray:-

Loving God we come out of the comfort of our safe place of worship to pray in and for our community.

We pray for our fellowship at Hatfield Road that we may be aware of the diversity and vitality of the community which surrounds us. We pray that we will be sensitive to the needs of the community and will seek to bring your Gospel message out from our church building into that community. That we will serve our community in Christian love - so we may show our love for others as you have taught us to. Amen.
