Praying from the contents of my pockets

Day Seven - Some Safety Pins.

Some Safety Pins

I carry a couple of safety pins in my pocket.

Those who follow my quiet service resorces will know why. See this service if you don't!

Following a complete disaster with the seams of my suit trousers on the train recently, they are also a practical necessity to solve clothing problems.

They only patched me up before I was able to buy some new trousers but did at least get me to the shops!.

Let us pray for our connection with God

Ever present God,
we pray for our relationship with you
and yours with us.
We thank and praise you that you are our God.
That you call us to be your children.
That you are involved in every aspect of our lives.
That there is never a time when we can turn and not find you there
If only we would look and see.

May we be observant in our lives,
help us to see you
in the things and people around us.
We pray that you will guide us,
Through the images we see,
the words we share with others,
the music that sings in our souls,
the love that burns in our hearts
which we share with your world.

As we brush against the safety pin we carry,
so we brush against your presence in our lives.
May we, as we connect our lives with you, be
fully aware of your presence,
however light the touch.
May we discern your guiding hand,
the path you want us to follow, and
those you have called us to encourage
to join us on your way.

We offer you this time of
prayer and reflection.
Lord, open our hearts and minds,
fill us with your Holy Spirit
Inspire, empower and enable us,
to give our all to and for you.

May we be safety pins in your world.
Each of us a reminder of your love at work in the world.
Each of us useful and used in your work of salvation.

Bless our daily lives with your presence.
We offer our prayers in the power of Jesus' name. Amen
