Community Activities

Babies and Toddlers

A Babies & Toddlers group for pre-school children and their carers meets on Wednesdays in term time from 9.45am - 11.45am (be early as it is very popular and numbers have to be limited).

There is a wide range of toys and play equipment for the children and chairs for the adults, as well as craft activities, singing and refreshments. The adults stay with and look after their own children.

There is a charge of £1.50 per adult with up to 2 children (additional children 50p each), which includes a cup of coffee/tea and a drink for each child.

It is run by the Church, but is for everyone of any nationality and any faith (or none).

The Aldersgate Café

The Aldersgate Café is open every Tuesday morning from 9.30am to 11.30am, and serves freshly brewed coffee and homemade cakes. Tea and chocolate are also available, as well as a selection of Fair Trade juices and biscuits.

Everyone is welcome, whether they plan to meet friends for a chat, need a sympathetic ear to listen to a problem or would simply like to read a newspaper.

A children’s area, equipped with books, crayons and a variety of quiet toys, is designed to help parents or carers of young children keep their little ones occupied, while they enjoy a well earned cuppa. The café runs throughout the year, including half terms and holidays.

Do come and join us.

Day Care Centre

Every Friday between 10am and 3pm, members of our Church, together with helpers from St Paul's Church and the wider community, host a day care centre for elderly people referred by local services.

The Hatfield Road DayCare Group was set up in July 1988 to care for the elderly within our community, working with Age Concern and Adult Care Services. The Centre provides lunches, social activities, craftwork, quizzes, companionship and plenty of laughter, as well as friendly support and a listening ear.
